Can I Prevent Drain Clogs?
Many preventative measures can be taken to prevent pesky drains from forming in your home. Installing a garbage disposal, using drain covers, and being wary of what is poured down your sinks are all great ways of correctly using your plumbing system. However, over time, various materials will gather together and act as blockages within your pipes. This is why the only sure way to prevent clogs is by having annual inspection and cleaning services done to your home’s plumbing.
What Should I Consider When Choosing a Water Heater?
There are two major considerations when choosing a new water heater. The first is the type of energy you will be using, the second is the size. If you are replacing an old water heater, you will probably want to keep using the same energy that you are already hooked up for. This will almost always be electricity or gas. The second factor will be the size, and if you are replacing an older model, you only need to ask yourself whether you had enough hot water during peak usage. If the answer is yes, you will probably want to keep the same size. If you found yourself without enough hot water, you will want a bigger water heater.
What Constitutes as a Plumbing Emergency?
In general, an emergency situation poses further damage to your home if the issue is not addressed immediately. Often this will be a situation when you must turn the water off because of a burst pipe. Once you have the water off, you will not have access to water anymore. Another situation that calls for emergency attention is a backed up drain. This is especially true when the water begins to overflow. There are serious hygiene issues with a backed up drain regardless of which drain it is. A backed up toilet can create a health hazard and most people are aware of this, but so can a backed up kitchen sink. You can’t always tell how toxic the water is by the look of it or the smell. It is best to call us immediately to clear your drain at the first sign of overflow.
